Standing Up and Moving in the Classroom

This Minnesota classroom, and classrooms in eighteen states, are experimenting with having students stand up and move around during class. Taller desks give students a workspace they can use while standing. The freedom to move gives the students an opportunity to successfully switch on their brains and study more effectively. Children’s Brain/Body Balancing provides similar benefits without special desks. Simple movements in the classroom help children focus, self-regulate, and concentrate in under a minute!
